Daylong Retreat – A Day of Awareness
A Day of Awareness: Seeing Things as They Are
Awareness is at the heart of Buddhist meditation and the living foundation of Right View. Rather than asking us to adopt a set of beliefs, the Buddha invites us to see clearly through our own direct experience.
During this daylong retreat, we will cultivate mindful awareness through alternating periods of sitting and walking meditation, mindful eating, Dharma talks and group reflection. Observing thoughts, emotions, and bodily sensations with gentle curiosity, we will have the opportunity to discover that awareness loosens the grip of craving and clinging, allowing us to meet each moment with greater clarity, equanimity, and compassion.
